If I Have An Orgasm Can I Still Have A Girl Baby?

By: Sandy Dean:  It’s often advised that women who are trying to get pregnant with girl babies abstain from having an orgasm.  The reason for this is that the fluids that are released during this process make your vaginal PH more alkaline.  And an alkaline PH favors a boy baby.

For this reason, women who want girl babies but who ends up having an orgasm anyway worry that they have ruined everything and will now get a boy. You might hear a worry like: “for the past year, I have been waiting for my husband to give me the go ahead telling me that we were financially secure enough to go ahead and try to get pregnant.  During this time, I have been planning to have a daughter.  I have eyed little-girl clothing and nursery designs.  Finally, my husband told me that we could go ahead and start trying.  I have heard that women trying to conceive girls should not have an orgasm. And that was my intention.  But then I got caught up in the moment just thinking that we could be making a baby.  And then it was too late to take it back.  Have I ruined everything?  Did my having an orgasm mean that I’m not having a girl now?”

Well, first of all, you’re assuming that you got pregnant on your first attempt to conceive.  That’s not impossible.  But there’s no guarantee that this happened.  Many couples try for much more than one month or one time before they get pregnant.  So you may get plenty of do-overs.

Now, let’s think about the things that influence your baby’s gender.  Yes, vaginal PH is one of these things.  But, by itself, it only makes you more likely to get a certain gender.  Yes, orgasm makes the PH more alkaline, but you didn’t know what PH you started with.  You might have already been highly acidic in which case, the alkaline fluid may have changed your PH but still left you acidic.

Or, assuming that it did make you alkaline, this does not guarantee a boy.  It just means that the vaginal environment is more friendly to boy sperm.  Girl sperm can do well in either an acidic or alkaline environment.  Boy sperm tend to die off in an acidic environment.  But, if you were alkaline, nothing has happened to the girl sperm.  You would just also have plenty of boy sperm present, which wouldn’t be the case if you were acidic.

Still, with both boy and girl sperm present, you could get either gender.  You could toss a coin and get either outcome. Plus, PH is not the only variable that affects baby gender.  Whether your have intercourse before or after ovulation and the sexual positions you used when the sperm was deposited can matter too.  All of these things increase your odds.  And all of them done together, during the same cycle, can really make a difference.

But an orgasm one time is only one small variable.  It may have increased the odds of a boy by ensuring that more boy sperm were present (if you indeed were very alkaline,) but that doesn’t mean you couldn’t have gotten a girl and that doesn’t mean that the other two variables weren’t in your favor.

If you did not become pregnant with this attempt, you can be more careful and cover all three variables the next time. If you’d like to be ready for the next time, I can offer you some instructions of how what to do and when. I’ve put together a few websites that explain it step by step.
