If I Have Sex From Behind, Am I More Likely To Get Pregnant With A Girl Or Boy Baby?

By: Sandy Dean: I sometimes hear from people who are wondering if they are using the right sexual positions in order to conceive the gender that they want. An example of the type of comment that I might hear is something like: “my husband and I have decided that it is time to start planning for a family. I went off of birth control pills about six months ago, so we’ve decided that this is the month that we’re going to begin trying to get pregnant. I am pretty sure that I am in my ovulation period. Last night, we had sex with him behind me. Does this position make me more likely to get a girl or boy baby?”

This person was describing a rear entry sexual position. “Doggie style” is a popular example of this type of position. Which baby gender is more likely really depends on whether you are achieving shallow or deeper penetration. These rear entry positions can be done so that both ways are possible. It’s believed that shallow penetration makes a girl baby more likely and deep penetration is better when you want a boy. The reason for this is that the boy producing sperm needs a little extra help because it is weaker and it is not viable for as long. By using deeper penetration, this helps give it the best chance of success because it is deposited more deeply and it has less of a distance to travel.

Of course, you’re only talking about helping your odds. Using sexual positioning is just one way to improve your chances. But there are other ways. Using the right timing (as it relates to ovulation) and making sure that you have the right vaginal PH (depending on the gender that you are trying for) is equally important. And doing all three things will raise your odds even higher than just doing one thing.

But to answer the question posed, rear entry can give you both shallow and deep penetration. Deep penetration makes a boy baby slightly more likely while shallow penetration is a bit more favorable to conceiving a girl. However, this is just one variable. And this is just a slight increase in odds. Covering some additional odds will help those odds even more. And you don’t have to just try once and then stop. You can try multiple times during your ovulation period to give you the best chance of success.

As I alluded to, sexual positions are just one variable that can influence your baby’s gender.  There are others, like PH and timing your intercourse to correspond with the right day. If you want to learn more about the whole process, I’ve put together a few websites to make this process much easier.  I’ve broken it down into manageable steps.  If you want a boy baby, check out http://conceive-a-boy-baby.com If you want a girl, see http://conceive-a-girl-baby.com
